Chinese is one of the most important strategic languages, and a popular minor-degree program at Norwich. Courses are open to students of all disciplines who are interested in the Chinese language, culture, history, society, economy and international relations.
Norwich’s program teaches Mandarin Chinese, regarded as the standard language spoken in China and Taiwan. The program adopts innovated textbooks and supplementary audio/visual materials, and teaching methods engage students in active learning of how to speak, write and read.
On campus, the Chinese Club organizes cultural events to enrich the learning experience of students. There are also established study-abroad summer and full-semester programs in China and Taiwan.
