    Architecture + Art Facilities

    Woodshop

The woodshop is located on the first floor of Chaplin Hall and is maintained and run by a shop technician. This facility is available for student use and houses a table saw, band saw, skill saw, jig saw, and many more tools used in the creation of small-scale models and design-build projects.

    The woodshop is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Computer Lab

The computer lab is located on the second floor of Chaplin Hall and is open around the clock for students enrolled in A+A programs. The lab houses 13 PCs, 2 iMacs, a laser printer, a flatbed scanner and a large-scale plotter.

Computers are all equipped with Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, Sketch-Up and other software programs for student use.

    Laser Cutter

The A+A laser cutter is an Epilog Legend EXT. This laser cutter has a 36- by 24-inch bed and has the ability to cut and etch materials ranging from chipboard to Plexiglass.

    Darkroom

The A+A darkroom is located on the first floor of Chaplin Hall. This facility is used for the development and printing of black and white film and paper, and houses two enlargers, two 4- by 8-foot sinks and a screen-print exposure unit.

    Design-build shelter

The design-build “shelter” was built to provide a temporary work space for the construction of the solar house, or RAE(V). It is located on Disney Field and open to visitors.

    AIAS Store + Lounge

The AIAS store is run by students enrolled in the Architecture program and sells materials that are commonly used in A+A classes. The store also has the ability to special-order items for students and faculty. Students who are members of AIAS receive a discount on purchases. The lounge was designed by former students and serves as a nice place to relax between classes.

The AIAS store is open Monday to Friday from 6 to 11 p.m.
